All the warning lights shinning bright as I try to make it where I'm going.
No fuel, no pressure, maint reqd,
Driving the Backroads of life as it's happening:
The skinny homeless dogs smelling the weeds for maybe the last time. Black fur and bones and golden yellow weeds of an empty lot.
Black and yellow bounding together as one unified expression of the power of life running away with the sunsets for one more time the last time.

The picnic
Thinking back to Green grass silhouette
Panting puppy punished for defiantly chasing squirrels.
Waiting in the shadowed woods on mossy picknick tables.
The stash of empty beer cans is found after retrieving the retriever.
The owners return shirtless, happy, and ready to return to their regular week of poverty and depression.
You on your computer or with your books sitting next to me and you couldn't be any further away.

Resting in gray
For as much as I'm told I see life in black and white I'm surprised how much gray this recent work has in it. It's a completely different approach then any stencil designs where everything is reduced to it's most simplistic shapes and shadows. While I believe that god interacts with us in the moments in between the extremes of inhaling and exhaling, humans try to navigate through somehow the muddled existence of gray. Here is a moment napping in the gray area.

Moments of imperfections
I often feel like my dog works as my spiritual guru. I continually learn so much from her. Her ability to be present in this exact moment is extremely touching. She lives her life without asking for anything and amazingly grateful for everything that she is given. Her contentment is contagious. She continually reminds me to focus on the important things in life.
